2013 Award for Excellence in Online Teaching

University College is pleased to announce the recipient of an award which honors faculty for excellence in teaching fully online undergraduate courses. This year’s recipient of the Award for Excellence in Online Teaching is Sarah Harwell, associate director of the Creative Writing Program in The College of Arts and Sciences. Harwell has been teaching online fiction and poetry courses for Syracuse University since 2005. All of her courses have exemplified the University’s commitment to continually improve online learning experiences for our part-time and full-time students. Harwell’s personal commitment to quality instruction has made her a model for fellow faculty in The College of Arts and Sciences, and across the University.

2012 Award for Excellence in Online Teaching

University College is pleased to announce the recipient of a newly-created award which honors faculty for excellence in teaching hybrid or fully online undergraduate courses. This year’s recipient of the Award for Excellence in Online Teaching is Dr. Rachel Razza, assistant professor of Child and Family Studies in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. With the support of Dr. Diane Lynden Murphy, dean of the Falk College, and Dr. Roberto Moreno, chair of Child and Family Studies, Razza has delivered online courses defined by superior teaching, not technology. Her work exemplifies the Falk College’s commitment to continually improve learning experiences and extend opportunities to our part-time and full-time students. Razza’s quality course design and instructional rigor has made her a model of excellence for fellow faculty in her department and across the University.
