Place Based Proctoring

University College has created a seamless place-based proctoring option for faculty to utilize in their face-to-face and online courses.


Expressions allows students and faculty to create their own WordPress sites. Make a site, upload a theme, and start expressing yourself! Signing up is easy, automated, and uses the NetID and password you already have. Click Log In and you’re already half way to having an Expressions site up and running.

Digital Asset Management

Ensemble allows individuals and departments to store and manage video assets.

Collage is a place to share images and graphics with the SU Community and beyond. Both are open to all SU students, faculty and staff.

Lecture Capture

MEDIASITE can capture, create, and import content generated from classrooms, a user, event, or video conferences, and publish content to the intended audience through a variety of methods.

Use a variety of presentation tools and design strategies to effectively communicate a message to any audience.


Clickers, small handheld feedback devices, allow instructors to produce interactive and immediate responses from students. Clickers can be used for polls, surveys, quizzes and more. Online Learning Services and the Classroom Computing Group each have 1 set of 25 clickers that can be checked out for one class session.

Qualtrics is Syracuse University’s enterprise survey technology provider.


Syracuse University supports Blackboard for creating wikis. Use a wiki as a course site or as a collaboratively edited glossary. Peer-edit group projects or create an open forum for brainstorming and problem solving.


SU’s Frevvo implementation allows users to create forms, distribute via e-mail or by embedding on a web page, and collect information by e-mail or in Excel Format.
